Actually, yes. These buildings look very familiar.
These are the Etihad Towers and the cluster of stunning buildings is one of the most iconic landmarks in the capital.
They certainly are impressive. Why do I feel like I’ve seen these towers before?

We didn’t have you down for being such a softy. Do you remember the scene where Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto finds himself behind the wheel of a Lykan HyperSport – the first supercar to hail from the Middle East – on a high floor of the tallest of the five buildings in the Etihad Towers complex?
It’s all coming back to me now.
So with Jason Statham’s character Deckard Shaw in hot pursuit, Diesel slams the accelerator and sends the car crashing through the glass side of the building into the neighbouring tower.
Is that even possible?
No. And don’t try it, either. Especially in a supercar worth Dhs11m.
So apart from driving sports cars through glass windows, what else is there to do here?
Besides getting copious amounts of snaps on your Nikon, there’s a rather plush shopping centre called Avenue at Etihad Towers. You’ll find all the luxury brands here, from Rolex to Roberto Cavalli and so on.
What if I’m hungry?
You’re always hungry. Luckily, there’s a former TOAD Restaurant of the Year called Brasserie Angélique in the area, amongst other top eateries including Nahaam, Rosewater, Tori No Su, Lobby Lounge and Observation Deck at 300. Jumeirah at Etihad Towers is the home to some of the best restaurants in the city.

The fine dining Lebanese restaurant at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers offers something a little different among the plethora of shish taouks that grace our fine city. The menu is interesting.They have a small selection of mezze, with classics like vine leaves and tabbouleh, but it’s the mains that always catch our attention. The staff are great and create a memorable dining experience.
