Where are we heading this week, Time Out?
Since we’ve been dragging you all over the city recently, we’ve decided to take a load off and chill at a five-star hotel.
Sounds right up my street. Which one?
You’re in for a treat. This is Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi and it’s one of our favourite hotels in the city.
What’s so good about it?
There’s heaps to shout about in this fine establishment. Be it fine-dining, chilling by the pool or getting pampered in the spa, the options are endless. In fact, we’re pretty sure some holidaymakers don’t even leave the hotel grounds during their stay.
There can’t be that much to do?
Trust us, friend, there’s plenty. Let’s start with the restaurants – we know you love your food. Please do… You’ll be spoilt for choice at this hotel, with the likes of Essence – an all-day dining restaurant which serves a large variety of dishes from around the globe – and Brauhaus, the only German restaurant in Abu Dhabi which offers authentic German cuisine and a wide range of hops.

If it’s steak you’re after, head to Rodeo Grill, or for a meal packed full of Indian flavour, choose Indigo. Finz is Beach Rotana’s fashionable fish restaurant which overlooks the bay and Trader Vic’s is a French Polynesian restaurant and bar specializing in island cuisine and tropical mixed drinks. Benihana, the American-Japanese joint, showcases Teppanyaki cooking, while Prego’s is the place to go for your Italian fix. We did say there were plenty of dining options.
Impressive. What else can we do there?
After all that eating you might want to further indulge in some “me time”, so treat yourself to some pampering in Zen the Spa. It comprises of ten treatment rooms, two tranquillity suites and relaxation areas, ideal for switching off from the city.

The hotel’s focal point is a long stretch of beach that’s unique in downtown and Al Zahiyah. The day pass here grants you access to an adults’ pool, a kids’ paddling pool, a 120m beach and garden, as well as the use of its two squash courts and three tennis courts. If you’ve had your fill of soaking up rays on the sand, you can also try the water sports – ideal for thrill-seekers.
