Al Wahda Mall Abu Dhab guide

Retail therapy and a special challenge in an Abu Dhabi mall

I really need some retail therapy, Time Out.
Brilliant, lets head over to Al Wahda Mall then.

I keep hearing about this place but I’ve never been. What’s all the fuss about?
There is a lot to like about this charming mall, starting with its location. Al Wahda is set within downtown, almost in the middle. This makes it convenient for most of Abu Dhabi’s residents. A 30-minute car trip might be okay if you’re going on a day-long spree, but not when you only have an hour or two to get things done.

So what’s on offer?
A bit of everything, really. That’s the great thing about Al Wahda Mall. It’s got a huge variety of fashion outlets, restaurants, a supermarket and loads more. Plus it’s got all the brands you know and love, such as H&M, Mango, Dorothy Perkins, Banana Republic and Next. And did we mention there’s a cinema?

I love a good movie after a shopping splurge. What else makes this mall a “great bit” of Abu Dhabi?
The Challenge Chambers!

What’s that?
It’s an amazing game you can play with your mates. There are a variety different of challenges where teams battle against the clock to escape the room they’re locked in. You get given your first clue as you enter the room, and then it’s up to you to free yourself from the room in time. It’s almost like a real-life Cluedo.

I better take my more intelligent friends with for that. If you know what I mean…
Yeah, nobody wants to be stuck in a room with an airhead.

Solving mysteries makes me hungry.
Of course it does. Fortunately there’s lots on offer. Everything from TGI Fridays, The Noodle House, Peppermill and Red Lobster – it’s all there.

Wait a minute? Red Lobster? As in Beyoncé’s Red Lobster?
Yes (sigh), but it’s not her Red Lobster. She just sings about it in her latest single.

Whatevs. I’m sold.
Don’t spend your whole salary…

Only in Al Wahda Mall

Al Wahda Football Club pop-up shop
Al Wahda isn’t just known for its fantastic shopping centre and great location – it also has a famous football team, Al Wahda FC. Best of all, the mall has an exclusive pop-up shop that sells kits, scarves, merchandise and everything Al Wahda fans need to support their favourite team. You’ll look pretty smart in one of their maroon shirts, too.
