Fascinating look at eight-year construction of Abu Dhabi landmark 

Fascinating time-lapse footage shows the painstaking eight-year process of building the awe-inspiring Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The world-class arts hub on Saadiyat Island opened in 2017 to much acclaim.

Since then, it has firmly established itself as a key part of the UAE capital’s drive to be a globally renowned tourism destination.

And now you can see for yourself just how the stunning building took shape since work began in 2009.

The footage, which was uploaded onto YouTube by webcam provider EarthCam, gives us a fascinating insight into the construction process of the Jean Nouvel-designed masterpiece.

It shows the intricate process of adding the 180-metre dome which gives the museum its distinctive look.
