New F1 track layout is approved to boost overtaking

Are you ready for Formula One?

Are you up to speed about the latest Formula One news? If you’re looking for an unmissable sporting event this December, you must’ve already penciled the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix into your diary.

F1 is coming to Abu Dhabi from Friday December 10 to Sunday December 12, and there are some exciting changes coming to the track.

The famous strip of tarmac is undergoing layout modifications this summer to help boost overtaking for the season finale, and that means even more exhilarating moments for all you petrol heads.

After the final race to the 2020 campaign, race promoters agreed to discuss the possibility of revising the circuit, and now bosses say those plans have been given the green light.

Work will commence on a number of corners, and will be ready in time for this season’s race.

The details of the exact changes haven’t been revealed to the public just yet, but they will be designed to boost overtaking capabilities to give spectators more of the wheel-to-wheel racing they crave.

But the best news this week? Fans will be able to watch the races in person this year. For all the details about fans returning and info on how to book your place trackside, click here.

General admission starts at Dhs699, Grandstand entry at Dhs660, hospitality at Dhs1,250, while experience packages begin at Dhs4,440.
