We all know that gingerbread is one of the Christmas essentials when it comes to festive food.
The H Hotel Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road has taken its love of gingerbread to the next level to celebrate Christmas in Dubai.
The impressive seven-and-a-half-metre long gingerbread installation is located in the hotel’s lobby and has made for a real seasonal showstopper. It pays homage to the hotel itself along with Expo2020.
In true Dubai style the sweet structure goes above and beyond and is more of a gingerbread city rather than a gingerbread house.
It features a two-metre high scaled-down version of the H Hotel Dubai, along with a metro track running to a gingerbread Expo 2020 site.
Constructing the confectionery masterpiece was no mean feat – eight staff took 700 hours to turn the vision into reality.

The level of painstaking detail that has gone into the gingerbread structure is nothing short of impressive. It even has lighting wired in.
There’s also a gingerbread number 50 standing more than a metre high, which was created to mark the recent UAE Golden Jubilee National Day.
The H Hotel Dubai’s festive centrepiece nicely complements its 20 feet tall glittering Christmas tree and other festive decs.
The gingerbread marvel is in keeping with a new tradition for H Hotel Dubai. It follows on from last year’s creation of a gingerbread sculpture of the Burj Khalifa.
Tempting as it may be, the inviting gingerbread structure is a feast for the eyes only. If you want to add a little spice to the festive season, get over to the H Hotel lobby and see for yourself.
