More cultural events coming to Abu Dhabi’s Qasr Al Hosn

Celebrate the UAE’s heritage at the site

A new programme of events at Abu Dhabi’s Qasr Al Hosn is going to celebrate the heritage of the UAE in the run-up to National Day.

Taking place throughout November, the cultural events will take place at The Cultural Foundation, the House of Artisans and Qasr Al Hosn.

At Qasr Al Hosn, Lest We Forget is on from from November 13 to 30. It will showcase the role of women in Emirati culture with a display featuring a presentation of burqas and traditional garments.

A second show, Ruhool, takes place from November 29 to December 30. It will showcase a range of classic cars from the 1950s and 60s, and will feature a classic car parade on the opening day.

There’s also a five-part documentary series, History of the Emirates, which will also be screened from November 29.

At The Cultural Foundation on November 12, the Ras Al Khaimah National Theatre will present the Emirati play Talaya Al-Layl, which explores the impact technology has on the lives of children.

Then, on November 22, Plaza Francia Orchestra will perform an evening of Argentine tango music.

Over at The Children’s Library a talk with Emirati author Noura Al Khoory will take place on November 21.

At The House of Artisans, from November 12 to 28, Savoir-faire Conversations will offer film screenings, cross-cultural craft demonstrations, workshops and talks with skilled Emirati and French luxury artisans as part of the Comité Colbert programme.
