The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is on track for completion by 2025 according to the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).

We’ve waited, we’ve wondered, we’ve stared longingly across the sands of Saadiyat Island, and now finally we know when the doors will be open.
Set to be part of a thriving community of cultural institutions in Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi is the latest installment in the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation’s international constellation of museums.
Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will be a huge institution in the region for global modern and contemporary art and programming.

The Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s collection will be global, with a focus on West Asia, North Africa, and South Asia (WANASA), and will foster an understanding of how different art perspectives have shaped the interconnected histories and cultures of our time.
Guggenheim Abu Dhabi will provide a first-of-its-kind platform for artists from the UAE and the Gulf, the WANASA region and the world to create commissioned works and engage with global audiences.
The new museum will be located in the heart of the Saadiyat Cultural District, and will be an architectural landmark inspired by the architecture of the UAE and the region. It will join Louvre Abu Dhabi, New York University Abu Dhabi, Manarat Al Saadiyat, and the Cultural Foundation as key cultural institutions.
Upcoming institutions include the Zayed National Museum, dedicated to the life and achievements of the Founding Father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan. The Abrahamic Family house, a multi-faith place of worship, is also set to open.
