Dubai’s Museum of the Future to open on February 22

The awe-inspiring structure has already been celebrated as one of the world’s most beautiful museums

The countdown is on – Dubai’s Museum of the Future is set to open to the public on Tuesday February 22, 2022.

The auspicious opening date – 22.02.22 – was announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, today, Thursday February 3, on twitter.

In his tweet, Dubai’s ruler hailed it “the most beautiful building on earth”.

So with less than a month to go until the grand unveiling, what do we already know about the Museum of the Future?

Located on Sheikh Zayed Road next to the Emirates Towers, Museum of the Future is a truly epic structure made out of a fibreglass and stainless steel frame.

Designed by architecture firm Killa Design, its stunning futuristic looking exterior has been turning heads for months now.

And it’s already been recognised by National Geographic as one of the world’s 14 most beautiful museums.

Dubai’s Museum of the Future will be dedicated to education and discovery; we’re expecting interactive exhibits that help us learn about the future and our impact on it.

Themes will include outer space, ecosystems and bioengineering, as well as near-future technologies that will shape the development of everything from transportation and energy to the food that we eat.

Learning at the Museum of the Future will start from the next generation, with an entire floor dedicated to children and their importance in our future world.

If the exterior is anything to go by, we simply cannot wait to get that first peek at what else is to come.

Tickets are not on sale yet, so keep checking back with Time Out for the latest news.
