Three new exhibitions launch at Qasr Al Hosn

See the new shows at the Cultural Foundation and House of Artisans

The Qasr Al Hosn 2022 programme has launched with three new exhibitions and a series of workshops kicking off this season. The exhibitions and workshops will be taking place in the Cultural Foundation and House of Artisans. Ready for some culture in the capital?

First up for Qasr Al Hosn 2022, the Weaving Cultures from Mexico to the UAE exhibition explores the dialogue between Emirati craftsmanship and Mexican folk art. The exhibition shows the common threads between the two cultures and is organised in collaboration with the House of Artisans and Fomento Cultural Citibanamex, AC. It is on display until Thursday June 23 at the House of Artisans.

There are two solo exhibitions by Emirati artists to see at Qasr Al Hosn 2022, too. General Behaviour by Farah Al Qasimi and Another Perspective by Mohamed Al Astad will be on view at the Cultural Foundation until Tuesday September 20.

Farah Al Qasimi’s General Behaviour exhibition encapsulates the hyper-global culture of the UAE. She marks social and cultural contrasts through her photographs and video-based works.

Mohamed Al Astad’s Another Perspective exhibition includes a body of his work called Danat Al Shawati or The Art of Beach Pearls, which includes sea sand, rust and other materials juxtaposed with large-scale paintings and installations.

Aside from the exhibitions, you can also make use of a new programme of workshops for Qasr Al Hosn 2022 including a weaving loom workshop, dukhoon-making workshop and clay coaster workshop. Check out the Qasr Al Hosn website for all the latest workshops.
