2 The Original Beyond at Bareburger
Beyond Burger patties have made headlines around the planet for the way they simulate the looks, characteristics and dripping juiciness of a beef patty. It is hard to see a difference and when smothered in vegan cheese, caramelised onion and habanero mayo in a vrioche bun but it is blooming.

3 Chunky Portobello & Black Bean Burger at Café 302
Trust Abu Dhabi’s best café, home to an incredible array of vegan morsels, to serve a variety of burgers. Patty options include a chunky Portobello and black bean, and red lentil and cauliflower burger. Tick all the hipster boxes, though, and seek out a red quinoa and white bean burger that comes with avocado, rocket and alfalfa sprouts – just skip the ranch dressing. The bun has a reddish tinge for extra Instagram appeal (and to make it look more like the real deal). The vegan burgers are good enough to convert even the most stubborn non-believer in to the plant-based lifestyle.

Because sometimes you need a vegan foodie fix 24 hours a day The bun is made from dark wheat and oats giving it a rusty feel, and you’ll find homemade pickles and a special vegan sauce as well. One for all the plant-based lads, ladies and kids out there.

5 Vegan Burger at Black Tap
Sharing menu space with creations such as a truffle burger and a pizza burger this creation from the renowned New York burger chain feels decidedly sensible. The patty is made from black beans and a further flavour kick comes from a salsa verde, coriander and a dollop of vegan, obviously, mayo.

6 Flora’s Cheeseburger at Flora’s Vegan Diner
This delivery-only all-vegan burger joint in Dubai is themed around a 1950’s style American diner, but with a plant-based difference. Burgers, hot dogs, “chicken” nuggets and fries, this is vegan naughtiness as its best. The cheeseburger is the closest thing to a Maccie’s we’ve ever tried – and we’re not complaining.
