Best Abu Dhabi restaurants for meat eaters

Where to find top steaks, burgers and more

We’re big fans of food here in Abu Dhabi. Whatever the cuisine, shape, sizes, quantities and ingredients, you’ll find a group of people to tuck in.

And whatever diet you’re following (or if, like us, you like to mix it up) there are restaurants to cater for you.

One set of people is definitely well catered for, however. Meat-eaters. And if that’s you, then we’ve got a bunch of venues you can sink your teeth into.

Here are the best Abu Dhabi restaurants for you to check out.

Bentley Kitchen

While strictly not a steakhouse this trendy Al Maryah Island spot has plenty on the menu for meat-lovers. From short ribs and lamb rump to wagyu beef cheeks and a selection of steaks, you can get all kinds of meat, cooked the way you like it here.
Daily noon-midnight. The Galleria Al Maryah Island (02 626 2131).

Blue Grill

Yas Island’s The Blue Grill is an out and out steakhouse serving up prime cuts. Take your pick from sirloin, tenderloin, rib-eye steaks and signature cuts including T-bone and porterhouse to satisfy your hunger along with the usual suspects as sides. It’s closed while the UFC is in town, but should be back open again soon enough.
Daily 7pm-midnight. Yas Island Rotana, Yas Island (02 656 4155).

BOA Steakhouse

With a picturesque location at Eastern Mangroves, you can feast on meat and take in the views at BOA. On the menu you’ll find a list of steaks too long to list here, from the affordable to the expensive. There’s also a brilliant burger that is worth trying, and you can get food from here delivered.
Daily 12.30pm-1am. Eastern Mangroves Promenade (02 641 1500).

Butcher and Still

There’s an awful lot to love about this 1920s style steakhouse at Four Seasons Abu Dhabi. For the meat-lovers, the menu is packed with dishes, including the likes of the giant tomahawk steak, prime rib and a whole lot more in-between.
Daily 4pm-11pm. Four Season Abu Dhabi Hotel at Al Maryah Island (02 333 2444).

JW Steakhouse

You’ll immediately notice the cow-patterned chairs at this cool steakhouse at Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi. When it comes to steak there are a number of signature and more familiar cuts on offer to cater to your tastes. It’s good value, too. The restaurant is closed at the time of writing, but we can’t wait to see it return.
Daily 6pm-1am. Marriott Hotel Downtown, Abu Dhabi (02 304 7777).

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill

With the name Marco Pierre White attached to this stylish steakhouse you can expect quality, and quality is what you’ll get. There’s no messing around here from chateaubriand and tomahawk steaks for two, to tenderloin, T-bones and more, all cooked perfectly.
Daily 6pm-midnight. Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Rabdan (02 654 3238).

Nusr-Et

You’ve seen the memes, watched the videos and no doubt had your fill of ‘Salt Bae’ doing his thing. At Nusr-Et it’s all about meat, meat and more meat so if that’s what floats your, erm, boat, you’ll find what you’re looking for here. From gold-leaf covered Instagram-friendly dishes to less lavish cuts, you can expect a fairly hefty bill.
Daily noon-midnight. The Galleria Al Maryah Island (02 679 9949).

Oak Room

Stylish and chic steakhouse Oak Room is a meat-lovers’ dream. We especially love the rock and roll inspired artwork dotted throughout the dining room. The winner of Best Steakhouse at the Time Out Abu Dhabi Restaurant Awards 2019 will not disappoint when it comes to great food and all the bases are covered when it comes to meat.
Thu 6pm-midnight, Fri noon-5pm, 6pm-midnight. The Abu Dhabi EDITION, Al Bateen (02 080 0000).

Ray’s Grill

First off, the views are stunning from this steakhouse on the 63rd floor of the newly rebranded Conrad Abu Dhabi. On the plate, things are no less impressive with a range of great meat, including everything from flat iron to tableside-carved chateaubriand.
Tue-Thu 6pm-11pm, Fri 12.30pm-4pm, 7pm-11pm. Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, Corniche West (02 811 5666).

Revolving restaurant Stratos is more than a good gimmick, with a stylish dining room, impressive views and a menu packed with great dishes. For meat fans, you can sink your teeth into the likes of short-rib and confit duck to slow-cooked lamb and perfectly grilled steaks.
Open daily 5pm-2am. Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi (02 674 2020).

A stylish steakhouse where there’s always a good deal to be had. Head along to Southern Sun Abu Dhabi and take your pick from steaks including rib-eye, tenderloin, sirloin and more, with side dishes including lobster tail.

Turtle Bay Bar and Grill

You might be tempted to head straight to the rooftop bar here, which looks over the protected Saadiyat sands, where the Hawksbill turtles live (hence the venue’s name), however it’s indoors where you’ll find the delicious surf and turf options.
