Black Tap

Black Tap may be best known for its monster burgers and shakes but by no means does the buttermilk fried chicken play second fiddle. As the name suggests, the fried chicken is delectably juicy and served with house buttermilk-dill, Korean barbecue sauce, and a tangy lime-honey mustard. A top choice for fried chicken in Abu Dhabi. Are you drooling yet?

Hankook Restaurant

If you’re looking for fantastic Korean food in Abu Dhabi, seasoned residents will point you in the direction of Hankook. Japang

There’s more to Japanese cuisine than sushi and sashimi – we’re talking Japanese-style fried chicken aka karaage. And that’s exactly what delivery-only joint Japang specialises in. You can pair your karaage with a number of tangy dipping sauces including tonkotsu sauce, sriracha mayonnaise (always a winner), cheddar cheese dip, or keep it simple with garlicky mayo. Ordering in? This is the ideal spot for takeaway fried chicken in Abu Dhabi.

Korean Kitchen

Korean Kitchen serves up some of the finest Korean-style fried chicken in Abu Dhabi – but be warned: it’s going to get messy (but in the best finger-lickin’ way possible). Keep things simple with the OG fried chicken or take things up a notch with one of the saucier (and we mean saucy) variations: sweet and spicy, honey-garlic, chilli-soy, and teriyaki, And if you like your spice, the spicy fried chicken will blow your head off. (No, you’re the one with honey-garlic sauce dripping down your chin.)
Open daily, 10.30am-10.30pm. Al Najda Street (050 571 2665).

Madang Korean

Madang Korean Restaurant has built a solid reputation in the city, known for delivering authentic Korean food without pretense and its superb Korean-style fried chicken is no exception. There’s an entire section of the menu dedicated just to crispy chook – classic, ganjang (served with a special soya sauce), yangnyeom (sweet and spicy), garlic, and padak (topped with spring onions). Served piping hot, perfectly crispy, with succulent meat beneath each crunch, we could easily eat it all day. A great shout for tasty fried chicken in Abu Dhabi.
Open daily, noon-10.30am. Al Ghazal Golf Club, Airport Area (02 575 8185).

Parker’s

Trust Parker’s to turn the humble fried chicken into something weirdly wonderful. Tender chicken is coated in crushed, salty pretzels before being deep-fried and served barbecue sauce and a barbecue-mustard-mayonnaise hybrid dip. That’s some serious fried chicken in Abu Dhabi. Mmm.
