Montauk Boutique Café & Restaurant now open in Abu Dhabi

Long Island beach vibes and homely fare in Al Bateen

Al Bateen is already a top spot to grab a bite to eat and if you’re looking for another reason to pay the popular destination a visit, a cool new restaurant has opened its doors.

Inspired by the luxe beach holiday destination of Montauk in New York, Montauk Boutique Café & Restaurant is serving up Long Island beach vibes and a menu of home-style dishes that have been created by the restaurant’s Emirati owner and founder, chef Mariam Al Mansoori.

Designed to capture all those beachy Montauk holiday vibes, the space is decked out with wooden floors, French wall panelling, nautical-inspired décor, cream linens, striking pieces of artwork and plenty of flora and fauna, and the new homegrown restaurant is spread out across three floors with the first floor housing a living room-style dining room, and the second floor boasting a bakery and terrace area.

The homely menu features international dishes with a hint of Arabic flair and starter highlights include spiced fig and goat’s cheese salad, burrata, spicy grilled prawns, lemongrass hummus, and double stuffed baked sweet potato with beef bacon broccoli and a truffle-cheese sauce.

For mains, highlights include grilled Canadian lobster with roasted nori butter, spiced lamb chops with pomegranate and Greek yoghurt, salmon with mango a d corn salsa, and creamy truffle rigatoni.

For those with a sweet tooth, dessert options include sticky toffee pudding, passionfruit cheesecake, and chocolate caramel fondant.

If you’re anything like us and love nothing more than a lazy weekend brekkie, make a date at Montauk Boutique Café & Restaurant this weekend.

The breakfast menu includes cheesy avocado and beetroot toasties, Turkish eggs served with a herby labneh, scrambled shakshouka-style eggs, custard-soaked brioche French toast, homemade granola, sesame bagels, fresh smoothies and a wide selection of freshly made bread, pastries and cakes from the in-house bakery.

Catering to all lifestyles, there’s also a selection of vegan, gluten-friendly and low-fat dishes on offer.

That’s your next meal out sorted.
Open daily 8am-11pm. Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, Al Bateen (02 546 6255).
