You might not be able to actually sink your teeth into Pickl in the metaverse (yet, with future VR tech though, who knows) but you will be able to find the award-winning burger joint there. Pickl will soon become the first UAE-based restaurant to enter the metaverse.
And if you’re not exactly sure what any of that means yet, don’t stress. The metaverse is a digital environment made up of augmented reality, virtual reality, and blockchain. Basically, it’s like a video game that impersonates the real world. You just strap on a VR headset and start exploring.
Fans exploring the new reality will find Pickl in the metaverse with brand-themed games, purchase virtual apparel and Pickl-inspired NFTs, which can be redeemed for physical items or used as virtual clothing to customise your avatar. Pickl will also be launching a virtual restaurant later this year. The future is here.
Pickl’s meticulously-selected and detailed “meta restaurant” is carefully designed to replicate each feature available at its physical outlets. The virtual restaurant is fully-equipped to welcome both its existing “fans”, and curious palates from across the globe to virtually tour its soon-to-open space.

In the future, Pickl plans to have a virtual restaurant that will replicate the full customer experience in the metaverse. It even plans to integrate Pickl in the metaverse with Pickl’s real-life delivery service so you can order a Nashville chicken sando or double cheeseburger in the metaverse and receive it direct to your door in reality. Pretty mind-blowing stuff.
Pickl is also opening an innovation test kitchen with a dedicated metaverse area for the Pickl team to experiment with the new virtual world.
Pickl was recently named Dubai’s best burger joint at the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2022. Will we soon need a category for best virtual restaurants? Only time will tell.
While the real world is spilling into the virtual one with Pickl in the metaverse, the virtual world is spilling into the real one, too. Dogeburger is Dubai’s first Dogecoin-inspired burger joint, which accepts cryptocurrency for its burgers. Essentially, you pay with digital money for a real burger from a cloud kitchen.
