Cobra Fitness Abu Dhabi
With a name like Cobra Fitness, we’re expecting a gym to have serious attitude and this exercise spot bares its fangs with a number of high intensity combat classes including muay Thai, boxing and sparring. However, if you are not in the mood to have your backside kicked (literally), do it metaphorically with body-melting sessions like Cobra Cycle (spinning), Cobra Pole (pole fitness) and LAA (legs, abs and, erm, ass).
Open Sun-Thu 6am-10pm, Fri-Sat 7am-7pm. Al Raha Boulevard, cobrafitnessuae.com.

F45
3peat, Foxtrot, Romans. Know what any of these mean? If you have been down to F45 in Zayed Sports City, you’ll understand these are three of the many workouts at this exercise centre. The classes are a combo of HIIT and circuit training, designed to be tonnes of fun and to hook gymgoers on those sweet endorphins. Each class lasts 45 minutes (what gave it away?) which means there can be no excuses not to fit one into your daily routine. Oh and did we mention the Hollywood class? Inspirational tunes are provided by a live DJ. Too cool.

PUNCH
Knocking out the image of the stereotypical boxing gym is PUNCH studio at the International Tennis Centre. With flashing lights and blaring motivational music (and, of course, your own hanging punch bag), the boutique studio offers two classes: PUNCHIIT, a mix of boxing with a series of high intensity interval training (think burpees, push-ups and mountain climbers); and PUNCHARD which is purely about mastering the boxing art. With ultra-slick gear available at the front desk, you can pound away the frustration of the day while looking good doing it. Boom.
Open Sat-Thu, times vary. International Tennis Centre, Zayed Sports City (02 666 9717).
