Chocolate ice cream burger at Pickl.
This cool new burger joint in JLT not only serves up some super savoury patties, it’s also gone all-out with its desserts too. And who wouldn’t want a dessert burger? Choose strawberry cheesecake, salted caramel or chocolate – and the dollops of ice cream come backed inside between cinnamon sugar buns and drizzled in salted caramel sauce. What’s not to love?
Dhs20. One JLT, JLT, Dubai (04 584 6859).

Chocolate with hazelenut succhatella at Succharia Authentic Ice Cream
This cute ice cream parlour in JLT serves up ice cream made with 100 percent organic ingredients. There are heaps of flavours, from cookies and lemon to toffee, banana and peanut butter. Our choice is the house speciality chocolate with hazelnut suchhatella – a winning flavour combo and a top treat.
Dhs12. Cluster C, JLT, Dubai (04 426 9062).

Cotton Candy Shake at Black Tap
This looks like it’s been pulled straight from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and it’s just as fun to eat. The vanilla-frosted rim is decorated with blue, pink and pearl chocolates, while an incredible selection of sweets and candy floss is carefully arranged to finish it off. Insta-tastic.

Abu Dhabi: Yas Mall, Yas Island, www.blacktapme.com.

Ice cream brioche at Vasa Vasa
Vasa Vasa has made the already brilliant Sicilian brioche even better by filling it with your favourite ice cream. The extensive range of ice cream flavours vary from rich and indulgent Nutella and chocolate to refreshing fruit sorbets and everything in between. Way better than a cheese and pickle.
Dhs37. Al Muneera, Al Raha Beach, Abu Dhabi (02 555 6484).

Ice cream burrito at iScream
There are 44 flavours at this funky ice cream parlour, from vanilla to wasabi. Once you’ve chosen, you can have it presented in a number of totally wacky ways. We vote for the the shockingly blue Mrs Sugar’s Burrito. Featuring a ‘wrap’ of candy floss stuffed with ice cream and covered with a topping of your choice. Smurfy.

Ice cream roses from Amorino
What’s better than an ice cream on a hot day? An ice cream shaped like a flower, that’s what. These “artisanal gelato makers” boast a massive range of flavours, as well as a selection of desserts including waffles and macarons. But really, it’s all about the ice cream roses. Choose whichever flavours you like (you needn’t consider colour combos, but you probably should) and then sit back and enjoy your floral dessert.
Various locations including Dubai: City Walk, The Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina Mall.
Abu Dhabi: Yas Mall, Al Zahiyah, www.amorino.com.

Ice cream sandwich at Sugar Factory
Now, these are our kind of sandwiches. The ice cream of your choice is sandwiched between two freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, or fudge brownies if you’re feeling live you deserve a really big treat. We don’t know about you, but we’ve been very, very good this week…

Abu Dhabi: The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi (02 491 4123).

Peanut Butter Cup Perfection at Cold Stone Creamery
If you like your peanut butter crunchy, drizzled with chocolate and served at sub-zero temperatures, this is it. Chocolate ice cream in blended with peanut butter, laced with fudge and smashed together with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, then served in a chocolate dipped waffle bowl.

Abu Dhabi: Corniche Beach & Abu Dhabi Mall, www.coldstone.ae.

Pomegrante frozen yoghurt at Pinkberry
The frozen yoghurt trend took off thanks to the fact it’s lower in fat than ice-cream. Choose wisely and you can indulge in the sweet-yet-tart dessert for around 100 calories a serving. Flavours at this popular fro-yo spot include chocolate, Lotus Biscoff, mango, passion fruit and pomegranate, plus toppings including fruit, nuts and cereals, and a variety of sauces.

Pralines ’n’ Cream at Baskin-Robbins
This American ice-cream chain is known for its “31 flavours” slogan meaning you can try a different flavour each day of the month. Challenge accepted. There are 30 flavours permanently on the menu with the 31st being a new one that changes on a monthly basis. If you’re feeling fancy you can choose toppings including caramel, chocolate fudge and strawberry sauces, and if you’re feeling fancier there’s also a load of sundaes and shake.
From Dhs9. Various locations including Dubai: Mall of the Emirates and The Walk, JBR.
Abu Dhabi: Al Khalidiya, Al Zahiyah, Yas Mall.

Stracciatella from Dri Dri
This gelateria has branches all around the world, from London to Dubai. There are loads of flavours on offer, but we vote for the classic milk and chocolate chips. It’s an Italian favourite for a reason. If you’re not getting chocolate ice cream all over your face, you’re doing it wrong.
From Dhs18. Open daily 10am-midnight. The Beach (04 526 9302).

Vegan Belgian dark chocolate ice cream at Jelly Belly
Jelly Belly has the ideal vegan scoop. It’s made from coconut milk, vegan Belgian dark chocolate and coconut powder before being enriched with coconut flakes and fudge.
