UAE offering free PCR tests for students throughout September

Free testing at selected SEHA facilities across the country

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health and Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) will be providing free COVID-19 PCR nasal swab tests for kids and teenagers at selected facilities and screening centres across the UAE.

Available until Thursday September 30, the free PCR tests are for students only, and there’s no need to book an appointment in advance.

Saliva tests are also available at G42 healthcare centres and some SEHA drive-through screening centres across the country.

It’s part of a campaign to facilitate a smoother transition back to school for youngsters.

Last week Abu Dhabi’s Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) announced that all private school students in the capital will be required to present a negative PCR test before returning to school this year.

Regardless of age or vaccination status, all private and charter school students – including students of determination – must produce a 14-day negative nasal PCR or saliva test result before they return to school.

The same protocol also applies to teachers, administrative staff, and third-party contractors.

SEHA COVID-19 screening centres are open from 8am to 8pm from Saturday to Thursday, and from 10am to 8pm on Fridays.
