Incredible interactive movie experience opening at Vox Cinemas

CTRL will allow audiences to vote on the movie’s plot in real time

Have you ever been watching a movie and wished you could make decisions about what a character does next? (Don’t say ‘I’ll be right back’ in a horror movie, for starters).

Before the film starts, when we’re not busy digging into movie snacks and settling into those comfy theatre seats, we’re usually trying to guess what the plot will be.

Now, you don’t need to guess, you can actually decide.

VOX Cinemas has created a whole new kind of movie with CTRL, the region’s first interactive movie experience.

Forget shouting your predictions at the screen during a moment of tension (yeah, we heard you all the way at the back,) starting on Thursday August 5 you can decide the fate of the lead character using a simple voting system on an app. During the screening, the audience will make between 40 and 50 choices, and the most popular vote goes.

The first film CTRL is showing is Late Shift, an interactive feature-length film, rated PG13. During the screening of the high stakes action thriller, which has countless storylines consisting of 180 decision points and seven alternative endings, you get to decide what happens. Late Shift was directed and co-written by Tobias Weber, an award-winning filmmaker and a Co-Founder of Kino Industries and Michael Robert Johnson, author of Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes. The critically acclaimed movie was awarded the 2018 BAFTA Cymru Award.

The daily screenings of Late Shift will take place at 6pm and 8pm from Sunday to Thursday and 5pm, 7pm and 9pm on Friday and Saturday. Catch it at VOX Cinemas at Mall of the Emirates, Yas Mall, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Al Zahia, The Galleria Al Maryah Island or Wafi City. The experience will also be rolled-out across select VOX Cinemas in Saudi Arabia.
