Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
Head to the movies (possibly in Hogwarts robes) from Thursday January 20 and you can see Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone on the big screen again. The re-release is in celebration of the film’s 20th anniversary. If you aren’t already familiar with the film, it’s about an orphaned boy who discovers he has special powers. He’s brought to a special school where he learns about the secrets of his past.

See For Me
Sophie is a blind woman who is house-sitting at a secluded mansion. She finds herself in danger when thieves break into the house, looking for a hidden safe. Her only defense is an app called See For Me, which connects her to a volunteer across the country. The volunteer helps her survive by seeing on her behalf.

The Colony
Looking for a dystopia? The Colony is set in the distant future, where an astronaut has been shipwrecked on the long-decimated Earth. Fighting for humanity to survive, she must decide the fate of the wasteland’s remaining populace. This one promises to have you on the edge of your seat.

The Commando
A DEA agent, a newly released criminal, a pile of cash and a family caught in the crossfire. Need we say more? If you’re looking for a new and fast-paced action movie, The Commando is an easy choice this weekend. The film is directed by Asif Akbar and stars Mickey Rourke and Michael Jai White.

Zone 414
Another dystopian film is coming to theatres this weekend: Zone 414 is about a private detective who is hired by an eccentric businessman to track down his missing daughter. The twist? He is paired up with Jane, a highly advanced AI, to solve the mystery.
