New calendar of community family events launched in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Moments will celebrate diversity

New community events have been launched in Abu Dhabi to celebrate cultural diversity in the emirate.

Abu Dhabi Moments will see a number events take place across five locations in the city including Reem Island, Corniche, Al Bateen, Al Hudayriat and Downtown.

The programme includes a mix of recreational activities, sports and entertainment.

From October 17 to 19 the Reem Island festival, held in Reem Central Park from 4pm to 11pm, will include educational activities, arts and crafts, kite-making and flying, a soft play area, barbecue stations and a food market.

Meanwhile, starting on October 21, weekly Active WALK Nights will be held in Al Bateen, where a 30-minute walking tour will take place followed by light stretching exercises and meditation.

A Diwali Night Market featuring a Diwali-themed bazaar and street food will also be held from October 25 to 27 at Capital Park.

Then, on November 2 a Flower Market will be held in Al Bateen from 10am to 3pm where a series of workshops and demonstrations will be held and florists from across the city will be on site to sell flowers and plants.

Feeling active? On December 13 and 14 Al Hudayriat Sports Adventure will include an obstacle course for people of all ages and abilities, an interactive village and healthy food trucks.

“When designing events and activities, diversity was taken into consideration as there are citizens of many nationalities and different cultures living in Abu Dhabi,” said Sultan Al Mutawa Al Dhaheri, community participation and sports sector at the Department of Community Development.

“Therefore, we have carefully curated events to include art, music, sport, food and retail.”
