UAE students will enjoy an eight-week summer holiday in 2020

The academic calendar has been announced

Schools seemed to have only started back a few weeks ago but already the academic calendar for the 2020-2021 school year has been announced.

The Ministry of Education has announced the new academic calendar for all UAE students and teaching staff who work in UAE schools.

We can already sense the excitement as children (and teachers of course) wait to see how long their summer holidays will be in 2020.

We’re sure it won’t be long before parents and teachers are making a beeline to travel websites to book trips to destinations near and far for their summer holidays.

So, how long will teachers and students get away from the classroom next year?

The 2019-2020 academic year ends for the summer break on July 2 2020 and students will return to school on August 30 2020.

This means that schoolchildren will have just over eight weeks of holidays in the summer before resuming their studies.

However, teaching staff will return to school on August 23 2020 to prepare for the academic year, giving teachers and school staff a seven week summer holiday before returning to work.

The full calendar, including winter and spring breaks, is now available on the Ministry of Education website for foreign curriculum and Ministry of Education curriculum schools in the UAE.

So, if you’re a person who likes to plan ahead then it’s time to start booking your holidays for 2020 and 2021.
