NYU Abu Dhabi announces June programme of digital events

Here’s what’s happening at The Arts Center

We’ve all missed live events for the past few months but luckily there has been lots of digital entertainment at hand to keep us busy.

Sharing cultural, musical and theatrical performances with the UAE, The Arts Center at NYUAD is known for bringing a diverse, eclectic and dazzling array of performances to the capital.

Proving the show must go on, The Arts Center has announced a June programme of events that you can watch from home.

The Reconnect series includes three events this month followed by live Q&A sessions with the artists, who will also be online with the audience during their shows.

First up on June 3 is ink, a contemporary dance performance by Camille A. Brown and dancers who appeared at NYUAD as part of last year’s performing arts season.

On June 10, it’s over to Ethiopian Dreams by Circus Abyssinia, an African circus act that uses Ethopian music and rhythms to create a spectacular visual performance.

Finally, on June 17, DATA NOT FOUND by Kaki King takes you on an audio-visual journey exploring the data we live with and leave behind.

The events are free to watch on Facebook where they will be livestreamed.

“These final selections for the series capture both a sense of celebration that many of us need right now, as well as a sense of reflection, as we all try to make sense of our changed circumstances,” said Bill Bragin, executive artistic director of The Arts Center at NYUAD.

“While we all eagerly await the time we can all sit in the same physical space, being able to reconnect in this online space is surprisingly moving.”
