Passengers flying from Abu Dhabi are exempt from emirate-wide travel restrictions

Travellers do not need to apply for a permit

Passengers flying from Abu Dhabi are exempt from the travel restrictions in the emirate.

Currently all residents and UAE nationals are not permitted to move between regions including Al Dhafra, Al Ain and Abu Dhabi, as well as travel to other emirates.

In addition, entry and exit to and from Abu Dhabi is not permitted for people from other emirates.

The travel restrictions began on June 2 for an initial period of seven days.

Exemptions are permitted by special permit for some employees including those working in vital sectors, chronic disease patients visiting hospitals and for the transportation of vital goods.

Permits are issued by Abu Dhabi Police and those eligible to travel can apply by visiting https://es.adpolice.gov.ae/trafficservices/publicservices/movepermit.aspx?Culture=en.

Residents are however permitted to move within their region between the hours of 6am and 10pm in compliance with the hours of the National Sterilisation Programme.

Abu Dhabi Police have announced that air travellers flying out of Abu Dhabi International Airport are exempt from the travel restrictions.

Those booked on flights are expected to produce documentation of the travel arrangements before travelling to Abu Dhabi Airport for their flight.

Passengers are not expected to apply online for a permit and instead can pass through one of the Police checkpoints on the way to the airport.

Flying soon? Abu Dhabi Airport recently released travel guidelines for all passengers flying out of the emirate.
