UAE launches programme to bring back residents with valid visas

NCEMA launches quick permit system to reunite residents

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority UAE (NCEMA) has launched a new programme to bring home overseas residents.

Some UAE residents, with valid visas, have been stranded overseas as global travel restrictions due to COVID-19 came into place.

This follows the news that the UAE is preparing to fully open its borders, announced by sister publication Arabian Business.

A new permit system has been launched to begin the process of bringing residents back to the UAE.

The NCEMA announced that it is planning to bring back a total of 200,000 UAE residents currently overseas.

Those looking to return to the UAE must apply for a permit that will be approved or rejected within 48 hours.

You can apply for your permit by visiting www.ica.gov.ae and completing the ‘residents outside the UAE’ form.

Once your application is approved you will be able to book a return flight to the UAE through Emirates Airlines or Etihad Airways to return to the UAE.
