The UAE has announced the private sector holiday dates for Eid Al-Adha, with Thursday July 30 (Arafat Day) and Sunday August 2 announced as paid leave.
For many employees, the announcement will mean a four-day weekend to coincide with the Eid celebration for the Festival of Sacrifice.
Earlier this week, public sector holidays were announced as Thursday July 30 and Sunday August 2.
Employees in the public and private sectors will return to work on Monday August 3.
Other public holidays in the UAE in 2020 include Islamic New Year, which will be celebrated with a public holiday on Sunday August 23, giving many a three-day weekend.
Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) Birthday will be celebrated with a public holiday on Thursday October 29, while Commemoration Day is marked on December 1, which in 2020 falls on a Tuesday.
The UAE’s 49th National Day will then be recognised on December 2 and 3, so with the Commemoration Day holiday, those who work in Dubai will enjoy three days of holidays and some will enjoy a five-day weekend.
