All the remaining public holidays in the UAE in 2020

Plan ahead for these holidays

All of the UAE’s public holidays for the rest of 2020 have been announced by the government.

Some public holidays, however, are dependent on the sighting of the moon so the exact dates will be confirmed closer to the time.

The next public holiday in the UAE is Islamic New Year, on August 23, giving workers a three-day weekend.

Then, in October, Prophet Muhammed’s (PBUH) Birthday will be celebrated with a public holiday on Thursday October 29, giving residents and citizens another long weekend.

Commemoration Day will once again be celebrated on December 1 in 2020, which falls on a Tuesday.

The UAE’s 49th National Day will then be recognised on December 2 and 3, so with the Commemoration Day holiday, those who work will enjoy three days of holidays and some will enjoy a five-day weekend.

Here are all the dates for your diary for 2020:

• Islamic New Year – Sunday August 23

• Prophet Muhammed’s (PBUH) Birthday – Thursday October 29

• Commemoration Day – Tuesday December 1

• UAE National Day – Wednesday December 2 and Thursday December 3
