Abu Dhabi traffic fines can now be paid in instalments by drivers

Pay your fines over time with no interest

No one likes getting traffic fines, but they do happen and the price can stack up if you’re not careful.

Obviously you should drive safely and responsibly in Abu Dhabi, but if you do get a fine you now can pay off the amount easier than before.

Abu Dhabi Police have announced that drivers can pay of their traffic fines in instalments without paying any interest.

Payments can be spread across a year and are accepted by using any one of five UAE banks including Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Mashreq Al Islami and Emirates Islamic Bank.

To take advantage of the offer the driver must use their credit card and contact their bank directly within two weeks of receiving the traffic fine.

A request to pay in instalments will be logged and a plan created between the bank and customer.

“The service allows fines to be paid through Abu Dhabi Police service centres and digital channels such as the website and the smart phone application, with a one-year installment system without any interest charged,” a statement from Abu Dhabi Police read.

“The service aims to ease life for drivers and vehicle owners by paying off the traffic violation fines in installments throughout the year.”

Drivers should also be aware that Abu Dhabi’s road toll system will be activated on January 1 2020, drivers will need an account and credit to pass through one of the gates located across the city.
