Dubai’s Emirates airline reveals new Premium Economy

The Dubai-based airline has also made enhancements across all cabins

Travelling anytime soon? Dubai’s Emirates airline has revealed its brand-new Premium Economy cabin.

Offering 56 seats in a two-four-two cabin layout, the new Premium Economy seats are 19.5 inches wide and recline eight inches giving plenty of room to stretch out and get comfy.

Each seat also boasts a 13.3 inch screen – one of the largest in its class and similar to Business Class, the seats are covered in cream leather with a wood panel finishing and offer six-way adjustable headrests, calf rests and footrests.

Located at the front of the main deck, travellers will also find swish new touches including easily accessible in-seat charging points, a wide dining table and side table for drinks.

The airline recently received its newest A380 aircraft from Airbus’ Hamburg facility and its remaining order of five A380s will also be delivered with Premium Economy cabins over 2021 and 2022.

Emirates will announce details of where its new A380 aircraft with Premium Economy will be deployed in the coming weeks – watch this space for updates.

“The Emirates A380 is already one of the most sought-after travel experiences in the skies, and now we’ve made it even better. While others cut back, Emirates is working hard to restore the products and services that we’ve had to suspend or adjust due to pandemic precautions and introduce new offerings and enhancements.

True to our fly better promise, Emirates continues to invest to offer our customers the best possible experience,” said Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates.

The Dubai airline has also made enhancements across all cabins and on this latest Emirates A380, the 14 First Class private suites are slightly wider with taller doors, offering more privacy and comfort.

The Business Class seats have been upgraded with bubbly-coloured leather covers and wood finishing, and the Onboard Lounge at the back of the upper deck (for First and Business Class passengers) has also been upgraded with the same colours.

The newest A380 has replaced all 338 Economy seats with ergonomically-designed seats, complete with full leather headrests, flexible side panels and a 13.3 inch screen to enjoy all the latest TV shows and movies.

Lastly, those travelling on the new A380 will notice brand-new finishes and design touches featuring the Ghaf – an indigenous evergreen plant that’s considered the national tree of the United Arab Emirates.
