Fireworks announced in Abu Dhabi for New Year’s Eve

Displays to light up the night’s sky

New Year is almost here and many of us will be looking forward to the start of 2021.

Helping to see out the year in style, fireworks displays have been announced in Abu Dhabi for New Year’s Eve.

Four separate fireworks displays have been confirmed across the emirate on Yas Island, Al Maryah Island, the Corniche and Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival.

The fireworks display from Abu Dhabi Corniche will also be broadcast on television on Abu Dhabi TV and online.

Al Maryah Island’s Promenade will be open to the public from 3pm to midnight with a host of activities and attractions throughout the day.

At Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, the 35 minute display is aiming to set two Guinness World Records for the largest straight line fireworks display and the world’s first longest ‘girandola’ fireworks display.

Those attending fireworks displays are asked to avoid crowds, only gather at events with members of the same family, wear face masks at all times and maintain social distancing.
