Calling all runners. Do you fancy yourself speedy?
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council is presenting the Al Ain Night Run on Friday June 11 at a new venue: Al Ain Shooting Equestrian and Golf Club. You can choose from a 10K, 5K, or 2.5K races, and all runners will receive a downloadable participation certificate and finisher medal.
Sounds like a great opportunity for a competitive workout.
The run takes place under the floodlights at one of Al Ain’s favourite venues: Al Ain Golf Club, so you’ll be racing across the rolling fairways of a championship course. Al Ain Golf Club is one of the prettiest spots in the city for a stroll, or in this case, a race, so enjoy the views while you’re stretching your legs.
Event check-in starts at 6pm. The 10K race starts at 7pm, followed by the 5K race starting at 7:15pm, and the 2.5K race starting at 7:30pm. The registration fee for single participants across all races is Dhs75.
Runners must be over 12 years old and under 60, and you best leave your your mum / partner / kids at home as there are no spectactors allowed.
All non-vaccinated participants must provide a negative PCR test within 48 hours of the event day. Participants who have been vaccinated with the E or V on their Al Hosn app must provide a negative PCR test within seven days.
For the runners and athletes among us, this isn’t an event you’ll want to miss.
We’re already limbering up.
