Creativity festival coming to Abu Dhabi

If you’re always on the hunt for cool things to do in Abu Dhabi, you should definitely mark your calendar for this awesome event. From Thursday October 14 to Saturday October 16, Semi Permanent Middle East is taking place at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

You can expect to see an array of global talent flocking into the capital from the design, retail, branding, fashion, and technology industries.

It will be a Manarat Al Saadiyat like you’ve never seen before, as the venue is being given an innovative design makeover by LA-based design studio Perron—Roettinger. The festival will feature an immersive, multi-sensory schedule of inspiring performances, talks, and experiences across the three days under the theme of “Bridges.”

Sounds like an unmissable art event for the culture-vultures among us.

This exciting partnership between Retail Abu Dhabi, the retail platform of DCT Abu Dhabi, and Semi Permanent aims to bring growth to creative industries in the region, with creative forces gathering from around the world.

Confirmed guests include Mark Ronson, the British-born Oscar and Grammy-winning songwriter, record producer, and DJ, who will perform an exclusive DJ set. You will also be able to buy an exclusive-to-Abu-Dhabi bespoke collection by designer Sabine Marcelis, who has collaborated with industry giants like Celine and Burberry. New media artist, Refik Anadol will be creating a large installation somewhere in the capital; The Flower Shop NYC will be hosting a cool pop-up; and Aaron Rose of La Rosa Social Club will debut in the Middle East. Plus there will be a whole whack of contemporary art-makers including Tom Sachs, Kim Gordon, and Barry McGee.
