The first official artwork on the moon unveiled at Expo 2020 Dubai

The record-breaking piece will last forever on the surface of the moon

Looking for something out of this world at Expo 2020 Dubai? The first official artwork on the moon was unveiled at the USA pavilion at Expo.

The artwork is called “We Rise Together with the Light of the Moon” and it is by artist Sacha Jafri. It’s also the first NFT on the moon.

The record-breaking piece will remain in space forever. It will be placed on the surface of the moon later this year. “We Rise Together with the Light of the Moon” will be the first commercial lunar mission under the NASA Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative and the landing site will become a world heritage landmark to be preserved forever.

Curious about how the colourful artwork will hold up in the extreme climate space? Spacebit is using an aerospace grade aluminum gold plate as a canvas to make the artwork fully resilient to lunar conditions, and to ensure it lasts eternally while withstanding conditions and temperatures between -173 degrees and +123 degrees Celsius.

A series of Jafri-Heart NFTs that have been created by the artist from his original piece will launch alongside each stage of the mission. The mission aims to use the NFTs to raise as much money as possible to aid in health, education, sustainability and equality.
