Likely start date for Eid al-Fitr in Abu Dhabi

Here’s when to expect the holiday

With first day of Ramadan falling on Friday April 24, it is expected that Eid al-Fitr will fall on Sunday May 24 this year.

Eid is declared after 30 days of fasting following the start of Ramadan but is dependent on the sighting of the moon.

A public holiday will also be confirmed closer to the time.

Both public and private sector employees can expect holiday from work to mark Eid al-Fitr.
