Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi has introduced two new venues to the capital’s dining scene.

Bringing some Franco-Arab flair to the city, Cyan has opened its doors to guests on the 18th floor of the Guinness World Record holding hotel.

Serving up classic French and Arabic cuisine, Cyan celebrates the incredible food of both regions and reflects what links France and the Middle East: the enjoyment of life and the love of food and socialising.

Cyan, in English and French, is the colour that’s the meeting point between blue and green, both which have symbolic function at the venue.

Blue, represents Les Blues, the nickname of the French, known for their love of food. Green represents Levantine cultures, known for their hospitality and social eating habits.

The restaurant’s name seeks to encapsulate both of these elements at its core and celebrate a love of food, warm hospitality and a perfect place to socialise.

On the menu you’ll find a range of elegant dishes from familiar favourites to modern interpretations of classics.

Dishes include mezze such as salt-baked heirloom beetroot labneh, artichoke and chickpea hummus and zucchini flower tempura, oysters and foie gras terrine.

Main courses include artichoke raviolo, wagyu flank steak and sea bass veronique and desserts including pavlova, pistachio baklava, mille-feulle and chocolate tart.

“Cyan Brasserie seeks to elevate the essence of simple-yet-relaxed French dining, by transforming the venue into something more connected to the thirst for experience and quality of the new generations,” said Martim Maita, head chef at Andaz Capital Gate Abu Dhabi.

“Our goal is to create an extraordinary experience with quality offerings, using thoughtfully sourced, high-quality produce, served in an engaging yet non-pretentious environment.”

Adjacent to the new brasserie, 18 Degrees Bar has also opened to the public with indoor seating and a beautiful outdoor terrace with views over the Arabian Gulf and Abu Dhabi city.

Blending the old and the new, the stylish new venue offers a great vantage point for sundowners with a view with classic mixed drinks and unique concoctions you won’t find elsewhere.
