Spicy food challenges have become increasingly popular in the past few years.
Perhaps the most popular of all hot food challenges are chicken wings, thanks in part we’re sure to the popularity of the Hot One’s YouTube series featuring celebrities from Natalie Portman and Daniel Radcliffe to Paul Rudd and Gordon Ramsay.
Celebrating the popularity of chicken wings and laying down the gauntlet (more on that later), a new chicken wing menu has launched at Velocity.
The downtown sports bar, located at Marriott Hotel Downtown Abu Dhabi, has added six varieties of wings to its menu for fans.
Head along and you can tuck into varieties including buffalo style with blue cheese sauce, Thai-style with sweet chilli and ginger, Peruvian spicy with green sauce, Honey BBQ and salt and pepper wings.
You can enjoy six wings for Dhs45, nine wings for Dhs70 or a dozen for Dhs90.
Love spicy food and not scared of a few hot wings?
Super-hot wings have also been added to the menu and we’re told they’re not for the faint-hearted.
Served with cucumber yoghurt, to help cool your mouth, the wings are filled with heat from chilli and pack quite a punch.
Challenging you to see if you can handle them, the venue has also launched a hot wings challenge.
Try your luck with 12 of the hot wings, and if you finish them within 20 minutes and you won’t pay a thing (financially speaking anyway).
Plus you’ll also be added to the hall of fame and get a t-shirt celebrating your achievement.
Fail to put away the hot wings and you’ll have to part with the cash and live with the shame.
