Dubai Japanese restaurant Akiba Dori to open branch in Abu Dhabi

There’s a second branch coming to Dubai too

Fan of Tokyo-style pizza? A popular Dubai restaurant has announced plans to expand in the UAE, and we’re at the edge of our seats with the exciting news.

Akiba Dori, located in d3 in Dubai, told Time Out’s sister publication Arabian Business that it plans to open its first branch in Abu Dhabi.

Two UAE branches will be opened in 2021, a second Dubai branch and a new venue in the UAE capital. Which is excellent news for fans of both Tokyo-style pizza and Japanese street food.

In Abu Dhabi the Japanese restaurant is set to open at the Yas Bay development on Yas Island, which is set to be a massive new dining destination that’s sure to attract the capital’s food-lovers.

The venue is scheduled to open in July or August this year, though a final date has not yet been confirmed.

A host of other restaurants have also been announced for the area including UAE home-grown brands Lock Stock & Barrel and Asia Asia, run by Solutions Leisure. Both are super-popular in neighbouring Dubai, and have picked up Time Out Dubai awards in the past. Trendy Mexican joint La Carnita is also set to open at the new location, which also promises loads more of cool bars and restaurants.

We can’t wait to visit once it opens its doors.

A location for the second Dubai outpost is yet to be revealed.
