Abu Dhabi Grand Prix pushed back a week for 2019 race

The mega event could clash with the UAE’s National Day

The date of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will change next year.

Traditionally, the sporting spectacle has been held on the last Sunday of November.

But Formula One bosses have pushed it back a week – creating a clash with UAE’s National Day and Dubai Rugby Sevens next year.

It will now be held on December 1 2019, the day before the UAE marks the anniversary of the day the seven emirates were unified in 1971.

This year’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, to be held on November 25, and the Yasalam post-race concerts are unaffected.

Despite the change, the Formula One season will begin a week earlier than usual as an extra race is added.

The Melbourne Grand Prix will kick off the action on March 17, with a further 19 races to be held before the season wraps up in Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2018 is shaping up to be another memorable race weekend for the capital.

It marks the tenth edition of the mega race in the UAE capital and tickets for the Yas Island bonanza have been as popular as ever.

Rock icons Guns ‘N’ Roses are one of the four huge acts to perform over the course of the four-day weekend.

Grammy winner Sam Smith, Canadian star The Weeknd and Rockstar hitmaker Post Malone complete the star-studded line-up.
