UAE fans urged to get to Asian Cup semi-final early

All tickets are sold out with none available on the gate

UAE football fans going to watch today’s (Tuesday January 29) semi final match against Qatar have been urged to get to the ground early.

There are no tickets available to buy on the gate, with a full house expected.

The country’s Sports Council bought all the spare tickets for the match at Abu Dhabi’s Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium and distributed them to loyal fans in the emirate.

The UAE national team are just 90 minutes away from a potential final showdown with four-time winners Japan.

The game kicks off at 6pm, but gates opened at 3pm to allow fans plenty of time to get inside.

An electric atmosphere is expected inside the stadium.

There are fan zones available in Al Ain and Abu Dhabi for anyone who doesn’t have a ticket but wants to watch it.

And bars around the city will also be showing the game.

It’s a huge occasion for the UAE, with schools finishing early and government staff given time off to watch it.

The final of the tournament is being held at the Zayed Sports City Stadium on Friday, February 1.

We’re all cheering on Alberto Zaccheroni’s men here at Time Out.
