Medals for the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon have been unveiled

Runners who complete the race will get a cool souvenir

The ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon is set to return this year for its second edition.

Encouraging the public to be more active and lead healthier lifestyles, the active event is open to everyone and you don’t have to take on the full distance to take part.

Taking place on December 6, the marathon includes 42km, 10km, 5km and 2.5km distances, so there’ something to suit people of all ages and abilities.
Need some extra incentive to take part?

Two new medal designs have been unveiled for those who complete the race, one design for those taking on the full distance and a second design for those taking on 10km or under.

Both medals feature the event logo against the Abu Dhabi skyline, the 42km medal notes the distance and the other medals display the words ‘I did it’.

In the run up to the race free training sessions are being held across the city to help build up fitness and prepare runners for the event.

On Monday evenings weekly sessions are held on Al Hudayriat Island from 8pm to 9.30pm.

Tuesday night’s see the sessions take place at Yas Marina Circuit from 8.45pm to 9.45pm.

On Wednesday nights Zayed Sports City hosts the training sessions from 7.45pm to 9pm.

Also, every Sunday a ladies-only training session is held in Umm Al Emarat Park from 7.20pm to 8.30pm.
