Harlem Globetrotters to perform in Abu Dhabi

The famous American basketball team is heading to Yas Island to show off their skills

Slam-dunk! Grab your jersey and get ready to cheer because the Harlem Globetrotters are coming to the Etihad Arena on Yas Island on Sunday October 31 for a very special performance.

The American exhibition basketball team is well-known for their skills at shooting three-pointers and perfecting their alley-oops. The Globetrotters’ three-hour performance will highlight this athleticism, along with theatre and comedy, as part of their Spread Game Tour.

The interactive sporting event is suitable for basketball fans of all ages and promises to involve the crowd while the Globetrotters showcase their pro skills and moves. If you’re looking for tips on how to ace your slam-dunk, you’ll definitely pick up some pointers will taking in the Spread Game Tour. The Harlem Globetrotters have participated in a staggering 26,000 exhibition games across 124 countries and territories so they definitely have perfected their B-ball skills.

Additionally, fans can delight in seeing the professional basketball team’s famous warm-up act using their signature song of Brother Bones’ whistled version of “Sweet Georgia Brown.”


Don’t think the performance would forget about the Harlem Globetrotters’ equally famous mascot, Globie! The American team’s official mascot will usher in the Spread Game Tour using a playful mixture of sport and comedy.

The Etihad Arena event is a collaboration between Yas Island, the US Mission to the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Department of Culture and Tourism, and it is part of Yas Island’s “Yas for 50” celebrations to mark the UAE’s Golden Jubilee. In conjunction with the milestone anniversary, tickets will be Dhs50.
