Abu Dhabi’s new running and cycling tracks are almost complete

45 percent of the project in the capital has been completed

Abu Dhabi is a beautiful city with incredible landmarks and breathtaking nature but what we love the most is that it is ever-evolving. There’s always something new to look forward to, the latest being the brand new running and cycling tracks coming to the streets of the capital.

While we’re all spending time in at the moment due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is plenty to be excited about for when it is safe for us all to enjoy the great wonders of the city again – especially if you love exercising with a view.

Avid runners and cyclists will be pleased to hear that The Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM) has revealed that 45 percent of a project to extend the scope of the capital’s running and cycling tracks in 28 sites has been completed.

The Dhs99.75 million-project stretches 14.12 kilometres for cycling lanes and 39.31 km for running lanes and is being created to encourage us all to practise cycling, walking and running as a daily healthy lifestyle as well as using them as eco-friendly modes of transportation.

The ADM also plan on enhancing the scenic surroundings of the areas where the new tracks have been built to attract more people, because who doesn’t love a stunning backdrop for their evening jog?

The streets of Abu Dhabi may be empty now as we back the crucial stay home initiative but it won’t be long before we’re out making the most of it again.

In the meantime, there are endless things to do at home to keep us all entertained. Check them out here.
