How to get from Abu Dhabi to Dubai by bus, taxi and car

Your guide to travelling between the emirates

If you’re thinking of travvling from Abu Dhabi to Dubai for the day then we’re here to help.

If you haven’t got your own transport for the trip along the E11, here’s how to get between the emirates by bus, taxi and car service.

Bus

Buses in Abu Dhabi all operate out of Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station, located next to Al Wahda Mall on Sultan Bin Zayed the First Street.

There are two routes than run between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, the E100 and the E101.

The two routes have different stops, servicing different parts of Dubai, but both leave from Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station.

The E100 takes passengers to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station in Bur Dubai and is the service to take if you’re planning on visiting The Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Creek or Jumeirah.

The E101 is ideal for those travelling to Palm Jumeriah, Dubai Marina, JBR or JLT and stops at Ibn Battuta which has a Metro station and taxis for getting to your final destination.

The services run multiple times an hour, although the E100 service is slightly more frequent than the E101.
The bus service takes between 90 minutes and two hours depending on which service you’re using and your final destination.

A one-way ticket between the two city’s costs Dhs25.

Private care hire

There are a number of private car hire services that you can hail and use to get to Dubai.

Take your pick from Careem, Uber and more and you can be on the road in no time.

Prices vary depending on pick-up location, final destination, duration and the type of service you hire.

The good news is that most of these services will provide you with an estimated cost before you agree to hire so you should know what to expect when it comes time to pay.

Taxi

If you want to get to neighbouring Dubai quickly, then travelling by taxi is probably your best option.

Hail a cab on the street or by using the Integrated Transport Centres mobile app and the driver will take you where you need to go in our neighbouring emirate.

Costs can range depending on pick up and drop off location as well as traffic so you can expect to pay anything between Dhs150 to Dhs300.
