Two exciting new rollercoasters are coming to motiongate Dubai, and adrenaline seekers are in for a treat.
Fans of high-speed, white-knuckle rollercoasters will be able to hop aboard two new rides next year, when the expansion of the Lionsgate Zone at the popular Dubai theme park opens.
The new Dubai rides are set to open in 2021 at motiongate Dubai and are based on the movie franchise John Wick – the popular films starring Keanu Reeves – as well as Now You See Me.
The John Wick ride is the first one in the world to be inspired by the global hit action movies, which have grossed nearly $600 million at the box office.
John Wick: Open Contact is set over a 310-metre track and will get up to speeds of 64km an hour, with 2.8G-force from the 4D free spin coaster. The ride is inspired by the films and after boarding The Continental, thrill seekers will go on an action-packed adventure that spins both forwards, and backwards, freestyle.
The Now You See Me movie-inspired rollercoaster is set to be the world’s fastest single-car spinning coaster. It will reach speeds of up to 70km per hour and will be thrilled by drops, non-inverted loops and a full 180-degree turn after entering a half-loop of the section, followed by a half twist. Gulp.
And the two new rollercoasters mean that motiongate will hold the record for the most rollercoasters in a single theme park in the Middle East.
“We’re starting 2021 with a bang and offering our guests never before experienced attractions,” said Denis Pascal, General Manager at motiongate Dubai. “We’re continually looking at ways to enhance the experience and we cannot wait to break some world records with these two brand-new coasters. They will not disappoint even the most daring among us.”
