Coldplay’s Expo 2020 Dubai concert will precede its Music of the Spheres World Tour, which has been two years in the planning and kicks off in March 2022.

The four-piece band – made up of vocalist and pianist Chris Martin; guitarist Jonny Buckland; bassist Guy Berryman; and drummer Will Champion – are aiming for the Music of the Spheres tour to have 50 percent less carbon emissions than previous tours.

Coldplay’s focus on sustainability is what brings it to the UAE.

The band behind some of the world’s best known hits, including Fix You, Clocks, and In My Place, are performing the concert in support of Expo 2020’s sustainability agenda.

Expo’s Programme for People and Planet, which is in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aims to bring together global voices to come up with new ideas among policy makers, businesses and individuals to map a clear path forward for a low carbon world.

Coldplay’s Al Wasl performance, part of Expo 2020’s Infinite Nights Series, aims to drive action towards this goal by being free to Expo visitors and streamed online around the globe.

You can watch the livestream on www.virtualexpodubai.com, as well as Expo on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and Oculus (VR).

Several TV channels will also live broadcast the show.

But, there won’t be anything better than being there in person.

Bookings will be available here from 9pm (Dubai time) on Saturday February 12. Tickets are necessary for entry to Al Wasl Dome.
