Theatre of Digital Art to launch online masterclasses

Recreate Kandinsky, Van Gogh and Money masterpieces at home

Set to open later this year in Dubai’s Souk Madinat Jumeirah, the Theatre of Digital Art has announced a range of at-home art courses and challenges designed for people self-isolating.

The museum has launched a series of online masterclasses which are designed to engage the art community with online sessions that will highlight and demonstrate techniques used by some of the most famous artists in history, including Monet, Seurat, Kandinsky, Van Gogh and more.

There will be classes taking place on Instagram this week, hosted by two prominent UAE-based artists, Laila Ali Masri and Amrita Sethi. Al Masri will be taking the first class on Tuesday March 31 at 4pm, and will demonstrate how “art fans can recreate Matisse cut-outs and impressionist at home”. You can join by tuning in to her Instagram page @lailamasristudio.

On Wednesday April 1 at 6pm, you can tune into a class by Amrita Sethi to learn how to create Kandinski masterpieces with easily-accessible materials. Head to @art.by.amrita for what you need and how to tune in.

Finally, on Friday April 3, the Theatre of DigThe paintings are available to view on Instagram @todadubai, where you can choose which painting you’d like to produce at home.

Go get creative.
