Although Abu Dhabi has countless fancy hotels and flashy bars, the people who live here aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty every once in a while.
In fact, the ultimate test in on its way to the city later this year.
Tough Mudder is coming to Abu Dhabi for the first time ever on Friday October 11, and it’s going to be messy.
Taking place on Al Hudayriat Island, the mud-drenched race is a real adventure from start to finish.
The Tough Mudder obstacle course is known throughout the world for its tests of strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.
You’ll need to work as a team as you take on monkey bars, slides, ditches filled with icy water, high walls and many more fun, but often very difficult, challenges.
The race includes a choice of four different routes, so whatever your age or ability you’ll be able to take part and leave with a smile on your face and feeling great.
The Tough Mudder 5km includes 13 obstacles on a five kilometre route, while the Tough Mudder Classic hosts over 25 different obstacles on a 10 kilometre route.
Tougher Mudder will also take place on the Tough Mudder Classic route but with prizes for the fastest times logged, while kids can even join in the fun with the 1.6 kilometre Mini Mudder course that’s suitable for seven to 13-year olds.
Anyone aged between 14 and 17 will need to have someone over 18 racing with them, and some of the stand out obstacles include the infamous Black Widow (featuring long elevated tightropes suspended over water) and the Leap of Faith (which challenges you to clear an icy water-filled gap).
The formidable sounding the Pyramid Scheme, Mud Mile and Everest 2.0 will also be featured.
