The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Emma Watson in first post-Potter role

We watched the Harry Potter kids grow up on screen. Since they graduated, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint have gone out of their way to put water between themselves and Hogwarts in their choice of roles. As for Emma Watson, she’s kept a low-ish profile until now: The Perks of Being a Wallflower is her first major post-Potter role. Writer-director Stephen Chbosky has adapted his own 1999 novel about nerdy kid Charlie (Logan Lerman) whose best friend recently committed suicide. The trailer features Watson doing a burlesque number – Hermione most definitely would not have approved.
