Hyde Park on Hudson

Bill Murray plays US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in this humorous drama from Notting Hill director Roger Michell. The film focuses on the period in FDR’s life leading up to the start of the second world war when King George VI and his wife Queen Elizabeth made the first official visit by a sitting British monarch to the US. There’s also a subplot involving FDR’s budding romance with his distant cousin and later mistress Margaret Suckley. Solid story, amazing cast: we’re not sure how this one can fail.
