Predator Thronos Air

Acer’s pricey gaming chair just got…lighter

What’s a gamer without their throne? No lowly player would be caught standing while playing Fortnite, or any game for that matter – are they nuts? While a few of us will still opt for a comfy beanbag, full-fledged gaming chairs are the new craze, but the crème de la crème of them all goes to Acer’s soon-to-be launched Predator Thronos Air. And yes, the added ‘Air’ at the end means its the lighter and more affordable version of 2018’s original.

Well, if you think $14,000 (Dhs51,000) is a price you deem affordable. Still, it’s a beast of an all-in-one gaming chair, except this one doesn’t come with an automatic motorised monitor arm. That’s okay, because instead it has a basic massage function built into its seat. All gamers get tense after a session,
you know.

Wait, is this basically a massage chair?
Supposedly, but those who use it just for that will be missing out on its adjustable mouse and keyboard tray, comfy footrest and room for three wide-screen monitors. Oh, and optional cup holders, cameras and hubs. If you were to launch to Twitch stardom, this 325kg behemoth is your top choice. Although, you’ll also need to supply your own PC, monitors, peripherals and, well, space.

Any downsides?
With a price tag like that? You better hope Acer’s goliath doesn’t have any cons. For the original’s $20,000 cost, we’re not missing the automatic functions whatsoever.

Final words?
The game(ing) of thrones has arrived at a cheaper price, but you could also put a chair and desk together to get the same effect. This is one for your well off pal to get.
